The Dutch Foodie is proud to support the Merstham Mix Café, a wonderful brand new café aiming to bring together the local community and provide healthy and affordable meals – plus great coffee – for everyone.
In response to the huge issue of global food waste, The Merstham Mix uses ingredients donated from local supermarkets and other food businesses – food that is still perfectly good to eat but that for one reason or another is destined to go to waste.
The Merstham Mix Café offers a daily special of a hot and wholesome meal made from our food donations and available at a price that makes it affordable to everyone. They will also offer a full café menu which has been designed to be both wholesome and tasty. Promoting healthy, home-cooked food is a key objective of the café.
Further down the line, they hope to offer a cookery hub where the local community can learn skills such as cooking healthy food from scratch on a budget.
The Merstham Mix wants to be the friendliest, warmest, most welcoming café with delicious food that everyone can enjoy. Like The Dutch Foodie, they want to do their bit on a local level to help the global food waste crisis. They want to help ensure everyone has access to hot and wholesome food and the skills to replicate it in their own homes.
So whether you’re a Merstham resident who lives around the corner or someone from the wider community who fancies coming to a café that is doing something a bit different in the name of a good cause, The Merstham Mix looks forward to welcoming you.
